With Government guidance announced to help stop the spread of coronavirus, Bedford Borough Council is announcing some changes to our facilities and services at this extraordinary time.

As has been seen with other UK performance venues, the decision has been taken to close Bedford Corn Exchange for the time being.

We are currently managing all cancellations of shows and events on a rolling basis and are keeping the timeframe for this under constant review. We are seeking to reschedule performances for a later date wherever possible.

Where performances are rescheduled, tickets already purchased will be valid for the new date. Refunds will be issued for customers who are unable to attend the rescheduled date. For any cancelled performances, customers will be issued with a refund.

Our front of house team will be in contact with all affected customers in due course. Please bear with us during this time as we have a large number of customers to contact.

At Bedford Corn Exchange we are highly experienced in providing efficient corporate hire services, from conference and business events to shows and exhibitions. Catering & Bars

We can provide a range of catering options for your event, from a choice of buffet meals to formal sit-down dinners. You can arrange your own catering but please note there will be a charge for use of the Servery and Main Kitchen.

We have three bars located in the Main Auditorium, Howard Room and Number 13, as well as a separate bar area in the Harpur Suite. We are a Licensed premises and reserve the right to levy a corkage charge on all drinks brought into the venue. For private functions only we allow customers to provide their own drinks for guests on the condition that all drinks are provided free of charge and a corkage charge is paid.

Stewarding & Security

It is a requirement of our Premises Licence that we provide sufficient front of house stewards and security for events. Any costs associated with providing this staffing will be passed on to the hirer of the venue.

Hire Requirements

Although we have operators for sound and lighting, it is recommended you bring your own sound and lighting specialists.

Truck Access

Access and parking for small trucks is available for major productions requiring the use of the rear stage store door. There is a scissor lift with maximum load per trip of 1.5 ton. The gates to this area are 3.65m wide; the total length from gates to stage door is 11m.
