Saturday 1st February 11am­-4pm

Join us for a study day exploring further the theme of Dreams and Nightmares in art. The day will start at 11am with refreshments and registration followed by talks by Victoria Partridge, The Higgins' Keeper of Fine and Decorative Art and David Boyd Haycock. David is a freelance writer, lecturer and curator specialising in British cultural history of the twentieth century, he is currently curating an exhibition on British Surrealism at Dulwich Picture Gallery.

After a break for lunch we will hear from Professor Christiana Payne and Dr Nicholas Tromans. Christiana is Professor of History of Art at Oxford Brookes University co-curator of Dreams and Nightmares and author of 'Silent Witnesses: Trees in British Art 1760-1870'. Nicholas is former curator of the Watts Gallery in Surrey and currently Programme Director, MA Art History and Art World Practice at Christies. A specialist in nineteenth century British art, Nicholas has published books on Richard Dadd and G.F. Watts and Christina Rossetti.

There will be time at the end to visit the exhibition.
