Christmas Carol Concert by Bedford Hospital Choir

Friday 16 December 2011

My Husband treated our family of 3 generations to experience the Bedford Hospital Choir and Brass Band music in December 2011. The show was just before Christmas and genuinely gave us seasonal spirit., being able to join in with Christmas carols, appreciate the work of volunteers and know you are ultimately financially helping a local cause left us all feeling uplifted at what can be a stressful time of year.

A definite must hear for all ....

Thank you for a great show yet again. This was the second time we have been to Bedford Corn Exchange and all the staff are friendly and helpful, we will definitely recommend it to others.. A great little place. Well done... - Lynn Scott, Wellingborough.

Sarah Millican - Chatterbox

Wednesday 23 February 2011

A couple of hours of side slitting comedy from northern lass Sarah Millican, sharing her life experiences and general observations, some audience involvement added to the fun without causing too much embarrassment.

This was a very adult show, as she explained at the beginning much more so than her TV appearances. Many references to her passion for cake and chocolate intertwined with bathroom and bedroom humour, with some references that must come from up north, but you could easily work out what she really meant. Her quick witted high speed humour required concentration at times to keep up with her, but this really kept you alert making sure you didn’t miss anything. This is one very funny lady with a cheeky disposition.

All in all a brilliant evening’s entertainment in an excellent venue with friendly helpful staff, and with free parking in the River Street multi-storey car park thrown in, a hassle free experience. Keep the good shows coming. - Tony Roberts, Bedford

Greg Davies

I have never laughed so much in my life!  What a fantastic gig!

I really enjoy watching comedy at the Corn Exchange as wherever your tickets are placed, you are always close to the action so it's always great value for money.

Down to Greg Davis!  The audience were lucky enough to be taken on a journey through Greg's life history; school and all.  We reminisced about those imaginative nicknames we give our friends and how they got them in the first place, tickled at the feet of family crisis and discovered how an innocent trip to the local shop can turn into an event that you will remember forever.  At intervals throughout the show, Greg would turn to his 'Little Book of Pithy Tales' for inspiration.  These polariod sized stories created just as much of a belly laugh as the rest of his show.

Greg's acting ability and facial expressions cast you into the story itself and made you feel it was happening in front of your eyes with you included.  It didn't matter where you were sitting in the venue, you were still catapulted into his insane nightmare of his teaching career, making me wish i was one of his pupils at the time so i could have experienced his extrovertness first hand.

An excellent experience!  Would thoroughly recommend Greg and the Corn Exchange for a fun packed inexpensive night out! - Bethany Lawson, Putnoe

Joe Pasquale

This was our first visit to Bedford Corn Exchange and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . Joe Pasquale was very entertaining and had the audience in fits of laughter .The show lasted approx 2 hours and we felt it was excellent value for money .The venue itself is quite small so wherever you sit you have a good view of the stage and comfortable seats too !!!! The bar area is in the auditorium and serves reasonably priced drinks and crisps etc .The staff were very friendly and i would def recommend this venue to anyone who hasn't been .All in all ,  very good for an inexpensive night out and will certainly be going again .Would love to see Niki Evans there !!! - Fiona Christian, Sandy

Been There, Doing It - A Performance by Christian Gibson

Saturday 20 March 2010

This was a wonderful opportunity to see an accomplished West End star on a local Bedford stage, and the show was a very entertaining mix of songs, dances and insightful and funny anecdotes of what it is like being in show business. Christian has a warm and very engaging personality, and it was a real treat to hear such a wonderful voice. Christian was supported by an amazing band, together with backing singers and dancers, all delivering a brilliantly produced night's entertainment, real top drawer stuff, great value and a night not to miss - more of the same please in Bedford is needed! - Ian Lawson, Buckinghamshire

What a great evening! Mr Gibson is obviously very talented; he cannot only belt out a decent tune, but moved us with the more personal and intimate numbers. His recounting of some of the more personal and funny anecdotes of both his personal and professional life were simply wonderful. The live band was on fine form with very strong arrangement from the Musical Director. The four dancers in well staged and choreographed routines added lively colour to the stage and the whole evening moved at a cracking pace. Bravo! - Catherine Woods, London

Just wanted to say thanks for putting on such a great show. It was so well put on and staged very well. We need more shows like this please! Christian has an amazing voice and sang such a great selection of songs supported by great musicians and backing singers. - Jackie Dudley, Watford

Brilliant show, band excellent and really entertaining and the dancers and backing singers accompanied the excellent entertainer Christian Gibson. Good value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thanks :) - Clare Dale, Cambridgeshire

I considered myself lucky to be at the Civic Theatre on Saturday 20 March 2010 to see Christian Gibson perform his one man show. He is a star performer and uses his West End experience to guide us through his time on the stage and the people he has met in a humourous and warm manner. This is accompanied by some great songs, dancing and fabulous live band, pinched from Sister Act I believe! Christian's voice is one of the best and most versatile I have heard and had me rocking one minute with the flash of colour of the dancing girls and backing singers, near to tears at his hauntingly delivered ballards. Wonderful night, not to be missed if he comes back to anywhere near you. - Martin Oliver, Northamptonshire

This was a fantastic show, Christian Gibson is a real showman with an amazing voice, and a terrific personality, he has that special ingredient called talent in abundance. The show was packed full with funny stories, great songs, great dance routines, all delivered with class and professionalism, he is an outstanding performer and I hope we will be seeing more of him in the future. The band were brilliant as were his backing singers and dancers. What a fantastic show to bring to Bedford audiences. Top class, let's have more of Christian and his company please, this was pure entertainment, delivered by ultimate professionals. - Hazel Frew, Northamptonshire

Signed, Sealed, Delivered - A Motown Revue

Saturday 16 January 2010

A great night out, never have I enjoyed and experienced so much fun for so little money. The evening gave us plenty of variety and the singers had such wonderful voices. The band were also great, very talented and they sounded better than you could hope for. The singers were great, Jennifer was an amazing singer and gave plenty of soul to the show but as always Patrick stole it singlehandedly with his performance and vocals - this man should be top of the board wherever he goes. Music from the Motown years including The Jacksons, The Supremes and Stevie Wonder. Never have I heard those songs sound so good. Such great value for money, I would recommend this show for everyone of all ages, particularly if you want to have fun and like to dance all night long. - Helen Rogers, Hertfordshire

What an amazing night out ! Signed, sealed, delivered it well and truly was - a spectacular line up of singers and musicians from around the world.  From the minute the band began through to the end we were not disappointed. We were astonished at the talented vocals of the singers, and enjoyed the fun, humour and bond of the group on stage.  The lead singer Patrick Alan was truly inspirational, with the most original and amazing vocals I have ever heard. As well as the talent for choreographing moves and putting the show together he delivered the whole package and more. Music from the legends of Motown took us back including Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations as well as many others and it had us dancing in the aisles. We didn’t want the evening to end. I would have paid double to see such a wonderful performance. - Stephanie Suarez, Buckinghamshire

I have seen this show before and loved it then.  It did not disappoint this time either!  Patrick Alan has the most amazing vocals, and all the singers combined really take you to the heart of Motown.  It really was a wonderful evening, at an affordable price.  The combined talent of the singers and musicians made you want to get up and dance, clap your hands, and bop the night away! The venue was quite comfortable too, the only thing being was that we could not just stand up where our seats were and dance, but were requested to move to the sides. I felt this was a little unfair considering that we paid for front row tickets to ensure the best view, which we didn’t get if we had to move!  But all in all a great night out, would highly recommend, and will be going again myself! - Andrea Walters, Hertfordshire
