Hiring the venue for special occasions

The Corn Exchange complex can be hired for every type of special occasion from christenings to retirement parties. With three enchanting rooms suitable for special occasions; the Corn Exchange Main Auditorium, the Harpur Suite and the Howard Room. The rooms can be hired individually or in combination according to the number of guests you would like to invite to your function.

Corn Exchange Main Auditorium

Amid the elegant surroundings of the Corn Exchange Main Auditorium, we welcome a variety of celebrations. Magnificent for parties with between 150 and 400 guests, diners can be seated at round or oblong tables or a combination of both. For a larger gathering, you may wish to opt for a standing finger buffet with a maximum capacity of 800 guests.

As a flexible venue, we can build a stage according to your needs. For example a typical DJ's stage would be approximately 8ft by 8ft which is easily accommodated with the option of a second stage for a band at approximately 24ft by 12ft. Entertainment in all forms has appeared in the Corn Exchange from casino tables to Christmas elves! Whatever you choose as the entertainment for your party, we'll strive to make it a success.

The Main Auditorium has a fully equipped lighting rig which can be set to provide a range of effects creating a beautiful ambience for your day. Harpur Suite

Neo-classical in design, this elegant venue has its own reception area and bar room creating additional space for your guests to enjoy themselves. This room has an in-built semi-circular stage at one end perfect for a DJ or band.

The Harpur Suite can accommodate up to 150 guests for a banquet or 200 guests for standing buffets.

A variety of technical services are available for the Harpur Suite and our knowledgeable sound & lighting crew are available to help make your day special.

Howard Room

The Howard Room is a stylish venue perfect for family occasions' particularly christenings and intimate family parties. Seating between 40 and 80 guests comfortably at round tables, the Howard Room has it's own bar and dedicated dance floor.
