Hiring the venue for conferences, meetings and seminars

We have a range of spaces available to hire, the largest of which can accommodate up to 800 people. Rooms can also be used in tandem, increasing capacity for larger events.

Corn Exchange Main Auditorium

The main auditorium is the largest yet most flexible room and can be set in variety of styles including tiered or flat seating, cabaret tables and breakout areas. A balcony is also available and can be utilised according to your requirements for instance as an exhibition space or refreshment area. Seating a maximum of 800 delegates theatre style, we recommend a minimum of 100 people in attendance when using this space.

Stages of various sizes can be constructed in any part of the auditorium. The venue has a high quality sound system and fully equipped lighting rig. Whatever you catering requirements our knowledgeable Bars & Catering team will develop a menu specific to your requirements. For instance, you may wish adopt the following sample plan:

Arrival - Morning coffee (with the option of tea) and biscuits.

Lunch - House buffet with orange juice or mineral water.

Prior to departure - Afternoon tea (with the option of coffee) and cakes.

The Corn Exchange Main Auditorium can be utilised in conjunction with the Harpur Suite, Howard Room, Miller Room and Bunyan Room as required.

Harpur Suite

With an in-built stage suitable for presentations and a side room / bar convenient for refreshment breaks, the Harpur Suite is ideal for a range of activities. The suggested capacity for meeting and conferences in the Harpur Suite is between 60 to 160 delegates dependent on the meetings' agenda.

A variety of equipment is available for use in the Harpur Suite including a portable P.A. system, lecterns, a range of projectors with screens, flipcharts and a selection of useful audio / visual equipment. Howard Room

An attractive room, suitable for meetings or gatherings of between 40 and 100 delegates, the Howard Room's seating can be arranged as boardroom, theatre or cabaret style.

Civic Theatre

A Victorian-style theatre with a built-in stage and balcony which is suitable for slightly larger groups. Seating can be arranged in theatre style incorporating the balcony to accommodate up to 280 people, or boardroom style for smaller groups.

Harpur Suite Bar, Miller and Bunyan Rooms

These 3 smaller spaces can be set up boardroom or theatre style and can accommodate a maximum of 30 delegates. These rooms can be used for small meetings or as break-out spaces / refreshments areas in conjunction with the larger rooms.
