At Bedford Corn Exchange we are committed to the provision of equal access for all.
Wheelchair Users
Parking - A number of disabled parking spaces are available at the rear of the venue in Mayes Yard. Disabled badge holders can also park on yellow lines in other areas of Mayes Yard for up to 3 hours.
Access - A ramp is situated at the entrance to The Harpur Suite and The Central Box Office.
Wheelchair access to the Main Auditorium and Howard Room is via a lift situated at the side of the building in Mayes Yard. The entrance to the lift has a doorbell to ring for assistance. The lift provides access to all levels including the Howard Room (Interval Bar) and the disabled toilets on the lower level.
Seating - The Main Auditorium has 5 spaces for wheelchairs, each with a seat for a companion alongside it. They are located on the back row of the flat seating for easy access. Extra spaces can be provided if needed. Please advise the Central Box Office when booking if you require space for a wheelchair.
Tickets for disabled patrons are available at a reduced rate for many shows at Bedford Corn Exchange. People with special needs who require the constant support of a carer on a one to one basis can have a complimentary ticket for that carer.
Deaf Patrons
For the hard of hearing, Induction Loop systems are installed in the Central Box Office, the Corn Exchange Main Auditorium and the Civic Theatre. A portable Induction Loop system can be installed in other rooms within the venue if required. Typetalk calls are welcome when contacting the venue.
